Florida Sheriff Threatens to Deputize Gun Owners Against Protestors


Clay County Sheriff Darryl Daniels told residents of his county "you've been warned" in regards to Black Lives Matter protests. Daniels stated he would deputize lawful gun owners of his county if protests turned violent.

In a video posted to Facebook, Daniels tries to assure Clay County that the relationship between the police and citizens is "great and not strained."

Daniels, the county's first Black sheriff, said, "God is absent from the media's message or Black Lives Matter." He is up for re-election against 6 other candidates, and some attribute This alarming statement to his re-election bid.

Daniels has since stated he is not legally allowed to deputize gun-owners.
