Cristina has been a dedicated advocate of gun violence prevention since the massacre at Columbine High School in her home state of Colorado. She is a member of the Brady Florida State Executive Committee and has worked with Brady Florida on both Team Enough and as a legislative lead. Cristina has worked with middle and high school students on school and community projects in support of gun violence prevention, anti-bullying, mental wellness, and suicide prevention. Her efforts have helped lead to safe storage information and gun locks being made available in pediatricians' offices throughout Orlando. Protecting schools and the public- -at-large from avoidable tragedies with safer firearm legislation and a greater understanding of the inherent dangers of guns is a motivation that continuously inspires her.
